Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of our beloved husband and father, Amarjit Chadee (Mr. Chadee). He passed away peacefully in his sleep at Mackenzie Health Hospital at 10 Trench Street, Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada, on Friday, May 8, 2020. Mr. Chadee had been receiving regular hemodialysis treatments for about 8 years and suffered with end stage renal failure.
He was born on August 10, 1945, in San Fernando, Trinidad and was the second son of Chadee Bandhan and Bhano Bandhan. He grew up in San Fernando, Trinidad, alongside his older brother, Sarabjit.
Mr. Chadee graduated from a prestigious college in London, England, as a Certified Chartered Accountant. His keen business acumen allowed him milestone opportunities to work in various high-profile financial positions, until he co-founded a partnership chartered accounting firm, where he remained until his retirement. He immigrated to Canada in 2013, to be with his wife and children.
Mr. Chadee enjoyed social events and gatherings with family and enjoyed simple pleasures such as music and entertainment. He loved cars, especially antiques, and would spend many hours attending to them. He also enjoyed literature and classic movies. Mr. Chadee was a great entertainer and could always captivate his audience with his powerful presence and story-telling abilities. He was actively involved in politics, culture, and sporting activities. He had a deep appreciation for animals, particularly dogs.
He was a rare combination of someone who had a love for life and a firm understanding of what was important. He will be remembered by many for being a good friend, confidante, mentor and advisor. Words cannot describe how much he will be missed by those who knew him best.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Sarabjit. He is survived by his wife, Satie Margaret Chadee, of Pickering, Ontario, Canada, and daughters, Laurella Chadee of Orlando, Florida, USA, and Laurianna Chadee of Pickering, Ontario, Canada.
“What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments,
but what is woven into the lives of others.” ~ Pericles

Uncle Amar and our dad, Bob Singh, met in Guyana in 1970s and they have stayed friends through all these years. Uncle Amar visited us in Guyana many times and likewise we visited him and his family many times. He enjoyed a cascadoo curry when he visited us. Uncle Amar was a happy guy. He was a true entertainer and no one could tell stories like uncle Amar. We always remember a particular story about him in Guyana and being scared of the alligators. He loved music and loved a few drinks with his friends.
Uncle Amar will forever live in our memory.
Our deepest sympathy go out to Auntie Satie, Ella and Anna.
Love
Samantha and Gavin

My hearfelt condolences go out to his wife and children. My family met Amar while he was working in Guyana in the early 70s.
Anar was always friendly and had a Happy Go Lucky attitude. I visited him in Trinidad in 1978 while he was working with Danstell and this is where I met Satie, after I found out he married her. May God provide her all the strength to carry on
