Obituary for Barbara Ridsdale-Saw
Mrs. Barbara Ridsdale Saw (nee Weeden) died peacefully at Bowmanville Hospital on December 15, 2019 in Bowmanville at the age of 80.
Barbara is survived by her children Gary Smith of Toronto, husband to Judy Wong and grandchildren Owen and Lia; Marilyn Hogg of Pickering, wife to Gary Hogg and Susan Baron of Whitby, grandchildren Corey and Deanna (great grandmother to Anastasia and Artemus) and Susan’s partner Don Hobson (his daughter Sara). Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Violet Weeden of England, her first husband Peter Smith of England, second husband John Ridsdale Saw of England and her sister Frances Osborne of England.
Barbara was born on July 27, 1939 in Bexleyheath (Kent), England to Walter and Violet Weeden. She married Peter Smith, her first love in 1957. In 1965 they traveled to Canada to begin a new life. After Peter’s death in 1990, Barbara fell in love and married her second husband John Ridsdale Saw in 1993.
A funeral is scheduled for Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Ajax Crematorium and Visitation Centre (building located at rear of parking lot), 384 Finley Avenue, Ajax, Ontario. Family and friend’s visitation from 12:00-1:00 pm and funeral service from 1:00-2:00 pm with a reception to follow.
Ms. Caroline Carpenter will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Barbara’s life. In lieu of flowers, family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
