Obituary for Chattarpali Gangapersaud (Kishun)
On Wednesday, June 10th, 2020, Chattarpali Gangapersaud, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 83.
Lovingly known as Heera, she was born in Guyana on September 10th, 1936. In 1953 she married Ganga Persaud, also known as Bud, and together they ran a successful jewelry making business. They raised a son and two daughters who, instilled with the love and values taught by their parents, went on to give her 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Heera enjoyed spending time with her family, as much of her life was spent caring for those around her. Heavily involved in the community, she would often be found singing bhajans at Mandir or chatting with friends. She was known for her knitting skills and her memory will live on through the pieces that are found in many of her family and friends’ homes.
Chattapali was preceded in death by her Husband and is survived by her three children, Ramesh, Ganica, and Shanta, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A private funeral service will be held for immediate family, but they will be also be hosting a digital service via Zoom on Friday, June 12th at 7pm. Please contact the family for more information.
