Obituary for Donna Marie Brooks (Wesley)
Donna Marie Brooks (nee Wesley), age 61, passed away on February 13, 2021 due to complications following surgery.
She was born on July 27, 1959 in Toronto, Ontario to Alma Ellen Wesley (nee Cromwell) and George Stanley Wesley. Donna remained friends with her former husband, Wayne Brooks, who preceded her in death in September of 2016.
Throughout her life, her hands were rarely idle. If she wasn’t knitting or crocheting something for a friend or a loved one, she was baking her always perfect banana breads, cakes, squares, or cookies. Donna found great joy in creating and giving to others. Just like a soul that feels a deep need for inner peace and harmony, she was always drawn to the colour blue.
Donna will be sadly missed by her son Aaron Brooks, her daughter-in-law Monifa Brooks (nee Morgan), and the lights of her life, grandson Jaylen Brooks, and granddaughter Destiny Brooks.
She is survived by her sister Lorraine Amson (nee Wesley) and husband Ed Amson, brother David Wesley and spouse Jody Mercury, brother Micheal Wesley, sister Cynthia O’Brien, and is predeceased by sister Sheila O’Brien.
Donna was loved by many nieces and nephews. Sarah and Madelyn Amson, Ellen, Katherine and Alison Mercury (Wesley), Jerome, Terrence, Carrera, Kyle and Jay Baldwin (O’Brien), Daniel, Mathew, and Joel Callaghan (O’Brien).
