Obituary for Krishna Bhasin

Mrs. Krishna Kumari “KK” Bhasin died peacefully at Lakeridge Hospital in Ajax on June 13, 2020 at the age of 84.

Krishna was born on January 16, 1936 in Quayata, India (currently in Pakistan) to Veera Dai. Krishna was employed as a teacher in a sewing school in India. She taught the children how to create patterns to cut and sew clothes. She eventually decided to write her own sewing book which she was very proud of. She later used her talent to enter an embroidery competition and won an all India embroidery award. Krishna then moved to Canada and began working for a sewing company, while owning a successful retail business with her late husband Krishan Kumar Bhasin. She also took care of her two sisters-in-law, Veena and Rama, when they were in India and treated them like her own children. Krishna and Krishan’s family remember her as a kind, gentle, patient and driven sister in-law and aunt who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

She was a generous, loving and dedicated individual who loved to pray and devoted herself to God. She was passionate about hosting religious ceremonies at home with family and friends. She was an active and dedicated member of the Durga temple.

Krishna’s funeral is scheduled for 12:30pm at the Ajax Crematorium and Visitation Centre. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 pandemic there WILL NOT be a reception. Pandit Damodar Sharma will officiate the ceremony. Due to new regulations we are unable to extend the invite to all individuals, however, we have arranged for the service to be viewed online using the following link. https://www.facebook.com/events/305808503763118/?active_tab=discussion

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to any charitable organization that is dear to you. The family would like to thank Tracy, Joan and Hassina for their effort, care and dedication to Krishna’s well-being.
