The Alberga family included ten children and mum and dad, Olive and Michael. I was the seventh child and Pat followed as number eight. As children, we were all close, and as we became teenagers, I became Pat's guardian when we attended dances and parties, warding off any unwanted advances! Later, I left Guyana to continue my studies while Pat remained in Guyana, marrying and having four children, one of which, unfortunately, died at the tender age of eighteen months. Eventually, most of our family decided to make Canada our home, so connections were renewed, and we would get together for family gatherings. In later years, when Pat was on her own, I would visit her, giving assistance when needed. Her passing will leave another gap in our family, as several of our siblings have already passed on. I shall miss her and pray that she is now at peace.

Since I was the last of 10children, there was not too much interaction with the older ones. Par was 3 yrs older than me. I left Guyana and came to Canada. Pat and her family followed shortley after. This is when we were all united again. Sometimes on weekends,I would visit her and take lunch or whatever she would request. She always requested Chow Mein because she said she loved how Pam cooks the Chow Mein. At Christmas She would request Pepper Pot and Garlic Pork. So her request was granted. She is greatly missed. Our thought and prayers are with her kids and grand kids. Pam & Joey
