Obituary for Rajcoomari "Shirley" Harrinarain
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Shirley Harrinarain, known affectionately as “Mama.” Our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to all whose lives she touched, left us on May 8th, 2022 peacefully at Michael Garron Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. She was in her 81st year.
Shirley was the beloved mother of Lorraine (Leonard), Roxanne (Davo), Robin (Jackie), Ronald (Indira) and Diane (John), proud grandmother of Steven, Pierre, Naomi, Vanessa, Shane, Sarah, David, Alisa, Jessica, Brittany, Nicole and Angelina, and great-grandmother of Jaden, Ryan, Jada and Margot.
She was predeceased by her devoted and loving husband David Harrinarain, parents Ganesh and Latchminya Persaud, and brother Rudolph.
Shirley lived a full life as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and a friend to many. She loved to cook, take care of others, and enjoyed being social with anyone she met. Shirley had an infectious laugh, a beautiful smile, and was a great story teller.
Most of all, she loved her family and friends and instilled good values and wisdom in her children and grandchildren that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
