Obituary for Winston Rampersad
Winston Rampersad was born in Springvale, Claxton Bay, Trinidad and Tobago. He was the beloved husband of Gianmatee Patsy Rampersad (Hardial) and they were married for more than 48 years.
Winston will be lovingly remembered as the beloved son of Soobran and Ramdayah Rampersad and brother to Elsie Harrypersad, Doris, Stella and Boysie, who have all pre-deceased him. He is survived by his sister, Shirley who held a special place in his heart and one brother, Vernon.
He leaves behind many nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law who cherished his relationship and kindness to them. Winston believed in helping others and many times he would open his home to those who were in need of a place to stay. He would provide sound advice and counsel to those who sought him out.
When we're alive we crave for our loved ones to be strong, wealthy and wise. Well, Winston was all these things and more. He was a rock of support for his loved ones and provided them with a lot of love that will be dearly missed.
He’ll be remembered for his “Elvis Presley” sideburns that paired so well with his glowing smile. His sense of style and ease with which you could speak with him is something we all know and love him for. Today as we celebrate his life, let us allow his love, light and memory to rest firmly in our hearts and minds.
