Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of our beloved husband and father, Sardar Darshan Singh Ranotta on Saturday May 2, 2020. He valiantly fought a strong battle with cancer and ultimately transitioned peacefully while lovingly surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Chhinderpal Kaur, his children Swarnjit Kaur Sambhi, Manjit Kaur Tamber, Gurmeet Kaur Ranotta, Taj Singh Ranotta, and his 5 grandchildren, Meharvan S. and Jeevan K. Sambhi and Jaydeep S., Harleen K., and Bavin S. Tamber.

Darshan Singh was born on April 15, 1950 in Rajiana, India and immigrated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1972. He worked hard as a welder and then a machine operator for over 30 years with GM and Chrysler.

He did everything for his family and took a lot of pride in providing for them and others. He was a very hard worker spending his retired years working as a crossing guard at public schools and gardening. He was an exceptional handyman and was able to fix almost anything. Darshan Singh was a man of his word and could always be counted on for his selfless help.

Darshan Singh will be fondly and lovingly remembered by his family and friends. He is again in peace and one with God and for that we are forever grateful. In lieu of flowers, if you so wish, please consider donating to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. Let us all remember Darshan Singh for all the joy and happiness he brought to our lives and know that we will meet again

A small, private, family memorial service will be held on Sunday May 10, 2020 at Ajax Crematorium & Visitation Centre.
